Back in February I started to knit a toboggan hat, mostly to learn how to follow a knitting pattern. It's very similar to following a crochet pattern, so it was easy for me to get the hang of.

The pattern I followed made a distinction between SSK (slip 2 sts to right needle, insert left needle in front of both, knit together) and a K2tog (knit two sts together). They look like the stitch to me, so I'm not entirely sure I got it right. The hat looks just fine, with the usual complaints I have about my knitting: the first row is too loose, and it's not super even. But if I wanted a perfect hat, I'd buy one. :)

Next I'll probably try to find a scarf pattern that I can use with some glow-in-the-dark yarn I found in a shop in Ludington last summer.
