Friday, I went to Cedar Point with the interns from work. My company arranged the whole thing, including a nice big bus to take us there and drive us home. I am not a big fan of roller coasters because I get motion sick pretty easily. So I went my own way and rode the slow rides.
I rode the carrousel at the park entrance and another faster one with just horses that seemed to race each other. The tilt-a-whirl just about did me in, so I slowed it down and watched a country music revue show. Then I rode the train and the big swings.
I even visited the history museum and read about the evolution of Cedar Point as an amusement park. The Frontier Trail was built in the 70s and was kind of like Silver Dollar City, but with fewer crafts. They had a lot of the same water rides as Silver Dollar City, like the plunge and the white water rafting ride.
I also saw a summer themed band, playing Sheena Easton and Jimmy Buffet songs. That was fun. After that I wandered around and considered going out to the beach. I hadn't brought my swimming suit, though, so instead I rode a bunch of the rides a second time.
By dinner time, I was exhausted, so I got ribs at a sports bar and enjoyed the air conditioning.
Pictures soon.
