On my drive from Florida to home, I listened to "Changes" by Jim Butcher. I had already read the book, but it's fun to have stories read to you. Plus, some of the machinations made more sense the second time through.
I saw a parachuter coming towards the ground somewhere in Georgia. I also saw a minivan with an alligator shaped float toy in the front seat like it was navigating for the driver. What can I say, I'm easily amused.
All in all, it was a good trip. I got to kick back, relax, and do just enough interesting stuff without getting burned out. I had a lot of good talks with dad and Marilyn, learned about small business politics, and found out that iced coffee can be a-ok.
I also heard a good joke, courtesy of the guy selling blueberries at the farmer's market. "Why did the Florida chicken cross the road?" "To prove to the armadillo that it could be done." Ba-da-bum-ching! Funny!
