Last week, I was on vacation in Florida. Because I am paranoid (or sensible) I didn't want to tell the world that I was away from the house. But, I do want to tell everyone about my trip. So, I have scheduled the posts I wrote last week to post during this week.
Since the weekends were driving days, I'll summarize those in this post and a follow-up post this Friday or Saturday.

Drove from Pittsburgh to Charlotte. The trip was pleasantly uneventful. I listened to most of The Graveyard Book on the drive. The hotel staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. Got a beer, took a long hot bath, and read a chick magazine. Ah! What a lovely evening.

Drove from Charlotte to Micanopy today after a lovely omelet breakfast in the hotel. Everything was easy until the rain started in mid-Georgia. Funniest thing though: one of the hardest rain storms I've ever driven through started about 30 seconds after I crossed the border into Florida "The Sunshine State". Very amusing.
Had a lovely dinner with dad and Marilyn after the GPS got me a little lost on the way to their house. Got half a tour of the yard before ticks started attacking. Ew! Found several crawling on me later, but no obvious bites. Reminisced about trips we took when I was a kid.
