Between work and the weather, I haven't done as much gardening as I'd like, but I think that's true every year. It was getting to be time for new gardening gloves, though. The old ones I've had for four or five years and the fabric was fraying away from the leather. I found some that are all leather. Hopefully they will last longer. These gloves have an open back, which I'm not sure I'll like, but they are easier to get on and off with the big gauntlet style opening.

Last weekend, I mowed the walkways in the garden, which makes it look at neat and tidy, even though it's really not.

It's the third year for my blueberry bush. The only one of three to survive and it was transplanted once. But, look! Proto-blueberries! I'll have at least five berries, if the birds and bunnies don't eat them.

My transplanted kale that survived the winter is blooming. Doh! It's pretty, but not producing many leaves in this state. I planted some kale seeds, too, so hopefully that will get me more leaves.

So far, the paint for the garden sticks is working out really well. The googly eyes, not so much.

And finally, just a picture of my main veggie garden from today. The sage and oregano are doing splendidly, as are the lettuce and spinach. I'm really lucky that most things I like to eat out of the garden are also easy to grow.

I have most things planted that I wanted to plant from seed. I'll buy some baby plants later for the flower garden and a few of the veggies I've never been able to grow from seed. But, I need to stay focused: this year, it's the shed and a proper garden door! Time will tell if that actually works out.
