Well, I'm finally all moved over and consolidated in one place. Now I just have to figure out how to backup all the content I put into WordPress, in case the servers ever eat themselves. I learned some CSS while converting my KitchenAlchemy recipe pages into something presentable. They're not in WordPress, but I made a simple, similar color scheme for them. The only thing I haven't done is hookup this blog's RSS feed to Facebook or tell anyone about it. :)
After playing with CSS, it's not that hard. I imagine it's got a lot of the WTF factor that X11 resources had, what with inheritance and class vs. instance conflicts, etc. I might get away from WordPress entirely, if I feel like hacking CSS and HTML longer term. I kind of doubt that, though.
I was playing with Qt Designer again today, laying out some forms for a nutrition tracking program I want to write. It was doing seriously annoying things with the width of text fields and I remembered how much I dislike their "size policy" B.S. The Qt API makes so much sense to me and is fairly clean for as big as it is, but Designer makes me want to throttle someone. I saw a great description of HTML editors today that I think also applies to UI design programs: WYSIWTF. That's usually the reaction I have: "it should look like this. runs program WTF? Why did it do that?"
Anyway, it's past my bedtime, so I'll have to continue any nascent rants tomorrow.
