Spiced Cranberry Sauce
I thought I didn't like cranberry sauces on my Thanksgiving turkey until I had this sauce. It is marvelous. This sauce gets better if it sits overnight, so you can make it ahead of time, if you want to. Source: Mady Bauer
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh cranberries
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp ground cloves
- 1/8 tsp ground ginger
- 1/8 tsp ground allspice
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Directions
- Wash cranberries and place in a medium saucepan with sugar, water, and salt.
- Cover and bring to boiling point.
- Cook 8-10 minutes, or just until the cranberry skins split.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in spices.
- Cool. Serve with meats and poultry.
