Orange Glazed Nuts

This recipe comes from Betty Crocker with a few changes. It's quick and very tasty.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp grated orange peel
  • 1/2 orange juice (or 1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp orange juice and 2 Tbsp Cointrau or other orange flavored liquor)
  • 2 cups pecan or walnut halves, toasted

Directions

  1. Grease cookie sheet lightly.
  2. Heat sugar, orange peel, and orange joice in 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently, until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Stir in pecans.
  4. Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
  5. Simmer about 30 minutes, stirring frequently, until pecans are completely coated and no syrup remains.
  6. Spread on cookie sheet to cool.
  7. Break apart if necessary.
