Fiery Pumpkin Seeds
This recipe is a fantastic way to use pumpkin seeds.
Ingredients
- 2 cups (approximately) fresh pumpkin seeds
- 2 Tbsp. light vegetable oil or olive oil
- About 1 tsp salt
- About 1 tsp cayenne, or more if you like
- 1/2 tsp cumin, optional
Directions
- Separate the seeds from the pumpkin strings by rinsing them in a bowlful of water. Dry the seeds between paper towels.
- Mix the oil with salt, cayenne, and cumin, and toss the seeds with this mixture until they are coated. (Then wash your hands well.)
- Bake the seeds on a baking sheet in a 350 degree oven for 30 to 45 minutes, tossing occasionally, until they are tan and crisp. They will crisp up further as they cool.
