Brown Sugar Hard Sauce
I only make this to top the plum pudding that I make a Solstice time, but it's very tasty. It's also quite fine with whisky mixed in and melted slightly. Source: The Joy of Cooking Yield: about 1 cup, maybe more
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla
Directions
- In a medium bowl, beat butter until soft.
- Add brown sugar gradually. Beat until well blended.
- Slowly beat in cream.
- Beat in, drop, by drop, the vanilla.
- Chill well.
